What is it?

The Botta is a men's urinal with 24-hour storage capacity that patients can easily use without the help of a nurse. This means that the urinal needs replacing less frequently and the patient has more independence. The Botta can be used one single time and has an innovative sealing mechanism that prevents unpleasant odours from escaping.

Why?

The Botta was set out to reinvent the male bed-side urinal, addressing issues in current urinal systems:

  • Sometimes patients have to use a non-empty urinal

“it is not allowed to stay not emptied for 24 hours…but it often does…”

  • The opening is often too high, causes difficult in usage placement, and leads to high spillage rate

“sometimes I would say up to 90% of the times it spills”

  • Unhygienic placement:

“It always goes on the night stand - it’s really unhygienic”

  • The opening leaks odour

Design Qualities

Made from simple, 3 part injection-molded biodegradable plastic and a heat-sealed bag. Designed for ease of assembly, with two non-return valves integrated in into the collection bag to prevent back-flow and leakage of odor.
